Japanese Tetris

I saw the funniest video on YouTube and I had to share. Can you imagine if the writer strike wasn't resolved, we might end up with reality shows like this.

10 Years Ago Today

10 years ago today, Dale Earnhardt won the 1998 Daytona 500. It was also 7 years ago that he lost his life racing behind his son Dale Jr. and driver Michael Waltrip at the 2001 Daytona 500. In his honor, I thought this might be an appropriate memorial.

RIP to the Man in Black.

New Car

On September 30th, 2007 I became a proud owner of a 2008 Volkswagon Jetta. This was the first car I purchased on my own. It is a great car to drive, especially during my hour each way commute. I loved having a new car - the new car smell, the paper license plate from the dealer to show it was brand new and how cute I looked behind the wheel.

When my real license plate came in the mail I was so sad. This means I didn't have a new car anymore and my car would look like every other new Jetta on the street. At that moment I decided I would wait until 2008 to put on my plates. Afterall, my car was a 2008, so I needed to keep the new look until then.

Yesterday, February 10th, 2008, I placed my official lisense plates from the DMV on my car. Since my car hit 5,000 earlier in the week, I decided it was time. While my car may not have the paper license plates to prove its new, I know in my heart it is still brand new.

Back in Victory Lane

It only took two years, a new number, sponsor and team for Dale Earnhardt Jr to get back to victory lane. I must say tonight's race was worth the wait. Seeing the look on his face when he jumped out of the car said it all. Dale Jr had a smile and was just so excited to be winning again.

When I first heard Dale Jr was heading to Hendrick Motorsports I was a little apprehensive. Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are the enemy and now Dale Jr wanted to join forces with them? The rest of Jr Nation and I were stunned when Jr announced he would be teammates with the devil.

I knew I had a choice to make; follow Jr to his new team or find a new driver. I chose the first but still had my reservations. I knew why he chose Hendrick Motorsports - they won 18 of the 36 races for 2007. Who wouldn't want to be apart of the most winning team in NASCAR?

So needless to say all the blown motors, wreaks and very public fights with his stepmother and car owner were worth the win tonight. Let's hope tonight is our first glimpse of things to come. I smell another Daytona 500 win for Jr!

Fountains at the Bellagio

I recently took a trip to Las Vegas for work. We caught the fountain show at the Bellagio and it was amazing. Here's what I saw while I was there. Enjoy!

My First Blog

Last week I attended a Social Media Webinar that explained how social media should be a part of corporate life. After the webinar was complete, I felt very behind the times because I didn't have a personal blog. I have a myspace page, I listen to podcasts and I love YouTube but no blog. So I decided to jump head first into the blog pool and its sink or swim!

So stay tuned, it should be an interesting ride...
